Your final grade in this course will be based on the following:
 
Tests (Midterm / Final) (2)  150 points (75 points each)
Information Gathering Assignments  600 points (100 points each)
Project  100 points
Attendance/participation 150 points, based on 10 points each week 
1,000 Total Points


PLEASE NOTE: The minimum requirement to pass this course is completion of all required elements listed above.

The grading scale in this class is as follows:

A - 1000-900 points
B - 899-800 points
C - 799-700 points
D - 699-600 points
F - 599 points or below

Note: Spelling and grammar do count. You will lose points for grammatical spelling, punctuation and typographical errors. Assignments should be 12 point font and double-spaced unless otherwise indicated. No handwritten assignments accepted.

Extra credit exercise:

1. Coverage of crowd events (Basketball games, school seminars, concerts).
2. Biography of Media figure. I will assign subjects.

Required: A full two page paper, properly documented.
10 points per event, up to 50.
You can go over 5 to hedge on points.
